The Gardens is the first and only tropical botanic garden on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List and features over 10,000 types of plants. Established in 1859, it has played a crucial role in plant conservation and scientific research, particularly in the cultivation of rubber plantations in Southeast Asia. The incredible 161-year-old tropical gardens includes the National Orchid Garden. The hilly site is home to a colorful collection of over 1,000 species and 2,000 hybrids of orchids.
