The National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) is Australia’s leading performing arts school. Students can learn about acting, stagecraft, film, and performance, and discover how theatre, film, and television productions are created. Today, participate in a 3 hour workshop. Go behind the scenes at Australia’s longest-running professional theatre company. Begin with a presentation on the lifecycle of a Melbourne Theatre Company production, showcasing how teams collaborate to design and create sets and costumes. Then enjoy a guided tour of the building, including costume, wig, and millinery workshops, props and scenic art areas, and rehearsal rooms.

Learn the art of stencil creation in a hands-on street art workshop. Guided by professional artists and tutors, each participant will develop their own design, transform it into a stencil, and cut it out themselves. The session includes a live street art demonstration and instruction on spray-paint techniques before participants create a final stencil artwork on canvas to take home.
