Travel through Richmond and stop at one of its most famous landmarks, the Richmond Bridge. Walk across this Australian National Heritage site and admire the historical and architectural stone archways, built by convicts in 1823-1825. Before your journey continues, fuel up at the very popular Richmond Bakery, famous for its scallop pies - or taste some delicious ice-cream at Sweat and Treats.

Take your time to explore this historic area that fuses the old and new. Built in the 1830s you'll find historic Georgian sandstone warehouses lining the dock which were once used to store wool, grain and whale oil but are now converted into businesses, galleries and restaurants. There are many other historic buildings and sites in the area including the Hobart Heritage Steam Crane that was built in 1899 and the 1935 drawbridge that is still in operation today.

From moss-covered ancient rainforests and deep river gorges, to a huge array of walking tracks providing an opportunity to encounter Tasmanian devils, quolls, platypus, echidna and wombats.

    Ascend the stairway into the magnificent cavern and take in the stunning delicate formations and beautiful colours. Dotted throughout the cave, see the luminescent sparkle of glow worms which are actually the larvae of a primitive fly.
